01 / The route
Shenzhen and Guangzhou first, then the Li River, Yangshuo and Longji. Finish with pandas and a full Chengdu spa day.
Compare the complete ticket for seven: Vancouver → arrival city, then Chengdu → Vancouver. March flight dates, nonstop availability and prices remain unconfirmed. Air Canada’s announced Guangzhou nonstop begins in May 2027.
Guangzhou now has four nights, including a full ancestral-village day. The village is not identified yet; the destination and driving time stay open.
One Guilin night puts us near the pier for the required Day 10 Guilin → Yangshuo sightseeing cruise. Prefer a 4-star boat with indoor seating and lunch. No rafting is planned.

Seven passengers, the driver and everyone’s bags need room together. A seven-seat vehicle usually includes the driver. Ask for photos of the seats and luggage area.

Aim below CAD $200 per room per night where practical. Four rooms—2 + 2 + 2 + 1 adults—are the comfortable default. Exact rates and availability are still to check.

Start with Yangshuo Lijiang Fuhai Riverside Resort in Fuli for the large-window brief. Compare Li River Resort, or Mountain Retreat for a more traditional stay directly beside the Yulong River.
Ask for a recent video from the bed and sitting area of every quoted room category. Confirm the river and mountains are visible, plus heating, adult occupancy, beds, steps and the total price. Outdoor swimming is not assumed in March.
Hotel night 1 is the first night in China, on Day 2. The outbound flight is separate. The last hotel night is in Chengdu on Day 16; the return flight is Day 17. Reconcile all dates with the actual flights before booking hotels.
Prioritize manageable access, remaining steps, luggage assistance, heating and a useful terrace view. Get the exact drop-off-to-room route confirmed. Keep the overnight bag small and arrange secure storage or assistance for larger luggage.
05 / Drivers & transfers
Use regional drivers rather than one vehicle for the entire trip. Copy a request, add dates, flights and hotels, and ask operators for an all-inclusive quote.

The published Canadian ordinary-passport visa-free policy checked for this plan ends December 31, 2026. Confirm an extension for March 2027 or obtain the appropriate visa. Check each traveller’s passport separately.
Official entry guidance ↗Test Alipay / WeChat Pay with your card. Choose mobile data that explicitly supports the apps you need in mainland China. Keep a backup payment method and a little cash.
Save hotel addresses in Chinese and make a group meeting plan for markets and stations.
Plan for cool, damp conditions around Chengdu, Longji and Yangshuo. Pack a rain layer and shoes with grip. Keep the Yangshuo countryside days flexible around weather; confirm the fixed Li River sailing.
Longji is a landscape visit in March. Lush rice, flooded terraces and clear mountain views are not promised.
Day 16 in Chengdu is reserved for the full spa experience. The venue is still to choose: confirm massages, substantial meals, bathing pools, a working cold plunge, steam rooms and billiards before paying.
